  • How much do you charge for estimates?

Our estimates and advice are always free of charge!

  • Can you fit my new floor?

Absolutely! If you feel uncomfortable fitting anything yourself, it’s always best to seek professional advice. We can always quote you a price for supplying & for supplying and fitting your new floor, allowing you to make whatever choice is right for you.

  • I only purchase eco-friendly products, is that something you can offer?

From recycled options found in carpeting to sustainable, ethically sourced hardwood options, we can offer you something that’s great for your home without destroying the planet.

  • How do I maintain my new floor?

We will always advise you on the correct techniques and cleaners to use with your new floor, but as a general rule most of our non-carpeted floors are best maintained with a light sweep and a vacuum. We advise against the use of steam cleaners and most detergents or bleaches as these can damage and possibly decolour our wooden and vinyl products.

  • Can you dispose of my old flooring?

We can give you a price to uplift and dispose of your existing floor covering, allowing you to choose the option that's best for you!

  • Can I use laminate flooring in wet areas like my bathroom?

Yes you can! There are some laminates that are unsuitable due to their wooden composition, but there are water resistant options available. We can advise you whatever you want to choose, but laminate flooring in a wet area will require a bit more care and upkeep to keep it looking its best.

  • Can I use LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) in wet areas like my bathroom?

Yes, absolutely. Our LVT ranges are hardwearing and water resistant, and always popular in bath and shower rooms.

  • Won’t LVT cost more?

Often, it is no more expensive than fitting a wooden floor, making it a great alternative in some areas of the house.

  • What is the difference between solid and engineered wood flooring?

Solid wood flooring is a single plank created from one piece of wood. Engineered wood is comprised of up to several layers of various wood, finished with a solid wood layer on top. Because of this composition, engineered wood flooring is often stronger, more adaptable to environmental changes and more eco-friendly, making the most out of every piece of timber. We stock plenty of both options, and we are happy to advise you further whatever you choose.

  • How often will I need to refinish my hardwood floors?

With the proper care, your new hardwood floor shouldn’t need refinished anytime soon. But if you’re ever unsure or want to ask the question, just get in touch!

  • Do you have anything I can use with my underfloor heating?

We have options in all of our flooring types which are compatible with underfloor heating systems and we can help you from advice to install.

  • What is wood grading, and what grade do you stock?

Wood grading is a way to seperate the quality of different products from each other. These differences will typically lie in the appearance - a "premier" grade of wood will be considered cleaner and more contemporary as it will have fewer knots and a less visible grain. Conversely, a "natural" grade will have more of these to give the floor character. It's a way to define the look that you are hoping to achieve.

  • Will my wooden floor change colour over time?

As a natural product, wood is sensitive to environmental changes - for example, direct sunlight will likely cause the floors colour to change over time. The extent of these changes depends on the species, the finish and to what the wood has been exposed.
